My education goal #1, to take 1 class every year.  I truly believe in continuing education, and this goal came from that.  The latest class that I took was "Instant Speed Reading" with my best friend, Em.  We both love reading, but for the most part are far too busy to actually get all of our required reading one (she is also teaching a class this fall), let alone read for fun!  I also thought it would be great to take back and help JR with all his school work.

The class really was great.  It was based on Dave Farrow's speed reading technique.  For me I found it really intesting because most speed reading classes teach speed skimming, where you only read the important words.  The Farrow technique is to read every work, and just that we are taught to read slwoer than our brain can actually understand the words.  It also works ont he fact that slowing down reading actually makes us bored and foreverful.  Crazy, huh?  Overall the course was great, and super helpful.  I started reading faster after just one class and I even remember what I read. :)
